The event was opened by one of the Student Affairs and
Extracurricular Development members, Mr Together. He was the master of the
ceremony. He stated that this event is recurring, and it is good to see more
students joining these sessions.
He further explained
that besides poetry there are other activities like choir, music, and dance.
There were poet guests who were invited to perform.
This platform has opened an opportunity to express their
talents by joining. The first performance was a guest poet Phindile known as
SHADES OF INK. She performed a poem based on depression, anxiety, and suicide.
This really connected with the crowd. She also helps students who want to endeavor
in poetry.
Also, those who recently joined the poetry group performed and gave it their all. Those included Tshepiso, a student at North campus, and Katalina, a Sweet as A Honey poet. The event lasted for 2 hours and ended by 7 MP. The Directorate of Extracurricular Development held a successful event for Soshanguve North campus students. It showed that students at Soshanguve are talented.
