Tshwane Celebrates African Day

With the aim to unite all nations. The city of Tshwane hosted a Fashion and Arts exhibition on the 26th of May. It took part at Eskia Mphahlele Community Library in Sammy Marks Complex, Pretoria. The MC,whose also one of the organisers Kgopelo  Mbowane welcomed everyone who decided to come and celebrate Africa day with them.

One of the city's well-known figures, Pastor Joseph, was one of the guests they were able to invite. This demonstrated the significance of the occasion for all nations outside of Africa as well as for Africans. He came with his young Korean dancers to show off their culture and excite the crowd. He said during his speech that they celebrate Africa Day more than we do in Africa back home.

This demonstrated harmony among the world's nations.  Takula Lebuso, a designer with Indalo Intricated House, a Tshwane-based company, and SPF Fashion Trends were among the designers they welcomed. One of the designers reportedly said she was very eager to participate in this City of Tshwane event and present her work because she wanted to educate the audience about breaking the stereotype that African prints are only appropriate for special occasions like weddings and demonstrating that they can be worn on a daily basis.

While they displayed their attire, Zee Bold, a Tshwane native, delighted the crowd with her African voice. Grace Ramasobane, the event's organizer, admitted that because they were beginning from scratch, raising money for it was difficult. Fortunately, the majority of the items were donated freely, which made them feel appreciative and demonstrated the solidarity of the Tshwane population.

People came in numbers to commemorate Africa day.

On this day, we celebrate the richness of our African soil, the lush landscapes that sustain life, and our lofty mountains as Africans. a region with the longest rivers that embraces the culture that forms the foundation of society. We would be nothing without the diversified continent of Africa. The manager of the library for the City of Tshwane, Jimmy Bhuda, thanked everyone who helped make the event a success and said it was an honor to see so many people dressed in African attire on this day.
